Create an exchange API key

Start with a demo account. Grant only Read + Futures trading permissions — never enable withdrawals or transfers.

Switch to demo mode

On Bitget's website, hover over the Futures menu at the top and click Classic demo trading. A Demo label appears next to the logo.

To API management

Click the profile icon in the top right → API management.

Create a demo key

Choose Create new demo trade API key → System-generated API key.

Name and Passphrase

Write a name in Note, and set your own Passphrase (8–32 letters/numbers) — write it down separately. It can't be recovered if forgotten.

Choose permissions

Choose Read-write and check only Orders and Holdings under Futures.

Copy after verification

Click Next → once verification is complete, your API Key and Secret Key appear. The Secret is shown only this once, so copy it right away.

To API management

On the live account screen, click the profile icon → API management.

Create a new key

Choose System-generated API key (HMAC).

Name and Passphrase

Set a Note and a Passphrase (8–32 letters/numbers).

Choose permissions

Check Read-write, and only Orders and Holdings under Futures. Don't turn on withdrawals or transfers.

IP connection

Entering the service server IP in the IP field means the key can't be used anywhere else.

Copy after verification

After verifying by email, SMS and OTP, copy your key and paste it here.

If your demo balance is low, request virtual USDT from Adjust demo trading funds on the demo futures screen (10,000 USDT recommended). It usually takes 30 minutes to 1 hour to show up in your account.

Choose Create New Key → System-generated API Keys → API Transaction.

Choose Read-Write and check only Derivatives (Orders · Positions).

Turn on Google OTP. Keys can only be created on the website.

Turn on Read-Write, and only Orders and Positions under Derivatives. Don't turn on Withdrawal or Transfer.

Enter the service server IP under IP restriction. If you skip this, the key expires after 90 days.

Error 10003 means demo and live keys were mixed up; 10010 means the IP doesn't match. We recommend a Unified Trading Account (UTA).

Click Create V5 API key and set a name and Passphrase (can't be recovered).

Settings → set Account mode to one that supports futures trading (Futures or Multi-currency margin).

Add the service server IP to the IP allowlist and set a Passphrase (can't be recovered).

A key with trading permission but no IP restriction expires after 14 days of no use. Error 50101 means demo and live keys were mixed up.

Go to demo site

Log in to demo.binance.com with your Binance account.

Profile → API Management → click Create API.

Choose System-generated and set a name.

Check that Enable Futures is turned on.

Complete 2FA and identity verification, then open a futures account first. Keys created before that won't have futures permission.

In Edit restrictions → Restrict access to trusted IPs only, enter the service server IP.

Turn on Enable Futures. Don't turn on Enable Withdrawals.

Error -2015 occurs when the IP, permissions, or key type don't match.
