Create an exchange API key

Switch to demo mode

On Bitget's website, hover over the Futures menu at the top and click Classic demo trading. A Demo label appears next to the logo.

To API management

Click the profile icon in the top right → API management.

Create a demo key

Choose Create new demo trade API key → System-generated API key.

Name and Passphrase

Write a name in Note, and set your own Passphrase (8–32 letters/numbers) — write it down separately. It can't be recovered if forgotten.

Choose permissions

Choose Read-write and check only Orders and Holdings under Futures.

Copy after verification

Click Next → once verification is complete, your API Key and Secret Key appear. The Secret is shown only this once, so copy it right away.

If your demo balance is low, request virtual USDT from Adjust demo trading funds on the demo futures screen (10,000 USDT recommended). It usually takes 30 minutes to 1 hour to show up in your account.

On Bybit's website, click the profile icon → switch to Demo Trading. Demo uses a separate account (UID).

To API management

On the demo screen, click the profile icon → API.

Create key

Choose Create New Key → System-generated API Keys → API Transaction.

Choose permissions

Choose Read-Write and check only Derivatives (Orders · Positions).

Copy

The Secret is shown only once, so copy it right away. There's no Passphrase.

Error 10003 means demo and live keys were mixed up; 10010 means the IP doesn't match. We recommend a Unified Trading Account (UTA).

Switch to demo mode

On OKX's website, go to Trade → Demo trading.

To API management

On the demo screen, go to Profile → Demo trading API.

Create key

Click Create V5 API key and set a name and Passphrase (can't be recovered).

Choose permissions

Turn on only Read and Trade.

Copy

Enter your API Key, Secret Key and Passphrase on this screen.

A key with trading permission but no IP restriction expires after 14 days of no use. Error 50101 means demo and live keys were mixed up.

Go to demo site

Log in to demo.binance.com with your Binance account.

To API management

Profile → API Management → click Create API.

Create key

Choose System-generated and set a name.

Check permissions

Check that Enable Futures is turned on.

The Secret is shown only once, so copy it right away. There's no Passphrase.

Error -2015 occurs when the IP, permissions, or key type don't match.
